INF DEF At Home 06 —
Alice

Welcome to our place!
This series has been shot at home by the INF / DEF family, with the people closest to us and the things that bring us joy in our everyday lives. While, for the moment, we can't share the four walls of 246 High St with you, we'd love to invite you into the places that we've been spending our days. INF / DEF at Home is our way of making the most of a situation and reacquainting you with everyone who is behind, and in front of, our special store.

Next up in our at home series is Alice, our rad part-time shop assistant! Take a look at all the pastimes she has been getting up to at home with her family!

Who are you

Hey hey I’m Alice! One of the part time gals. Y’all might’ve seen me on the weekends guzzling back the filter coffee and bouncing around the store. Miss you all heaps and I can’t wait to meet again for some chat and styling tips!

What are your current favourite home comforts

I think I wouldn’t be alone in saying that coffee has been the optimal at home comfort. We’re lucky to have a coffee grinder at home so I’ve managed to carry my addiction of Supreme coffee over from the store to the house. A good red wine or two hasn’t gone astray either.

I’ve been doing a loooooooot of yoga these last few weeks. My usual yoga studio has been running classes via zoom, which has actually worked really well and has been awesome for keeping a lot of connectivity going. Fruit has to be my favourite at home comfort though. My family has a delivery subscription just for avocados! We also have THE BEST grape vine at home which I’ve been taking utmost advantage of.

What is a discovery or rediscovery you’ve made during this time

I’ve definitely rediscovered that I’m a creature of habit. Even with the opportunity to lie in or do something experimental, I’ve stuck to the same routine pretty much every day. Get up, have the coffee, do some uni work until the PM does her press conference. Then it’s a walk or bike - I’m really lucky to live close to the river so this is always whimsically beautiful— , back to (attempt) uni for a bit, then yoga!

I’ve also discovered the joys of the kitchen. Normally I don’t cook or bake that often, but with my regular brunch spots currently unavailable my sisters and I have been cooking up a storm to compensate. The elaborate brunches we’ve made for ourselves have been topnotch if I do say so myself.

Where do you look for inspiration or escapism

My friends and family have definitely given me a lot of inspiration. Throughout the lockdown we’ve been doing quizzes about each other, cocktail nights, lots of home workouts, praying and sharing ideas with each other. I’ve loved seeing the cool, creative ways my friends are getting through iso as well. Whether it's on my social media feeds or in our catch ups, it’s exciting to see what everyone’s getting up to!

I hate to say it but my current go-to escape is Tik Tok… may or may not be addicted!

If a parcel arrived on your doorstep from INF/DEF what would you love to be in it

Up there for me would definitely have to be the prawn pants from Henrik Vibskov, love love LOVE them! Always a sucker for the Meadowlark rings, any of those would do. Maybe a pair of the new Stepneys? One of the Marle jumpers? Ugh, I’d be happy with anything really!!
