Maruhiro Bar Bar Kuchuteien Vase - Venus
Meaning "Floating Garden" the Kuchuteien Vase is designed in the shape of the Venus symbol and finished with a clear crackle kanyu glazing. The cracks in the vase are hidden until they are inked which renders them visible.
To Apply Ink:
Add some sumi-kanyu ink to the brush and apply it to the area where you want the pattern to appear. Then wait for about 5 minutes and rinse off the ink with water. One application may not be enough for the pattern to become visible, in which case, please adjust the amount of ink and number of applications until the desired look is achieved.
*Please note vase does not come with ink & paintbrush
Dimensions: W8.8 × D2.6 × 12cm / 80cc
Material: Porcelain
Features:
- Venus symbol bud vase
- Optional cracked ink appearance
Care:
The crackle kanyu pattern in the glaze arises from the difference of shrinkage between the clay and the glaze and is not artificially created. Kanyu cracks can be expected to expand with age with no fear of breakage. Hibi crack patterns will vary. Partial changes in temperature can cause the item to crack. Be careful not to expose only one part of the item to heat.
