Port Noise is a big ol’ love letter to sound, art, and the communities that make it all happen.
Pulling together a carefully dialled lineup of musicians and artists from across Aotearoa and further afield, it drops right into the heart of Ōhinehou.
With the help of the local crew, a shared car park and courtyard between three iconic venues gets flipped into a full-tilt sensory zone ~ think DIY stages, merch and pop-ups, glowing lights, artist-led micro moments, and plenty of local hospo to keep things ticking. It’s immersive, interconnected, and powered entirely by the creativity, generosity, and good vibes of the artists, arts workers, and businesses who show up and make the whole thing sing.

5 stages, 22 Acts, Instalations, Secret Shows, Local Cuisine, Immersive Events, Transfiguration.
Tell us about the curation: what was the vibe for Local Mix 040?
The mix is the artists playing our main event on February 21st.
It’s high quality, different sounds, different energies - but all chosen to make sense together across a long day in Lyttelton. Could be your new favourite music.
Outside of the sound, what’s the current "port-side" aesthetic?
Catching a bus through the tunnel for a good night out. Wearing sunscreen. Drinking a vino in the afternoon. Maybe capris.
High-vis is having a real moment on the port. Jandals are clearly pushing the limits of health and safety compliance. We’re watching closely.
Who would you invite to Port Noise?
Mum and Dad, cousins, mates - probably not the kids, its a little unhinged…
