Campbell Taylor Ferriss Collection First Ring - Oxidised Silver
The First ring was designed in the East Village and made in New York’s Diamond District. It aligns the collection with Hugh Ferriss’ exploration of mass and form in its attempt to make an elemental ring with perfect proportions.
The Ferriss Collection was inspired by an exhibition catalogue found in a second-hand book store in New York.
’Hugh Ferriss: Metropolis’ was shown by the Whitney Museum of American Art at the Equitable Center in 1986 to celebrate the reprint of Ferriss’ seminal publication, The Metropolis of Tomorrow. This document mirrors the dimensions and design of the original catalogue and introduces the relationship between master draughtsman and the city alongside the jewellery of the collection.
