Campbell Taylor Ferriss Collection Third Ring - Bronze
“The Race into the Sky” was won by the Empire State in 1931, but the title of World’s Tallest Building was later stolen by a radio tower nobody’s ever heard of. This contemporary signet ring isn’t the biggest in the world but it gets the attention it deserves.
The Ferriss Collection was inspired by an exhibition catalogue found in a second-hand book store in New York.
’Hugh Ferriss: Metropolis’ was shown by the Whitney Museum of American Art at the Equitable Center in 1986 to celebrate the reprint of Ferriss’ seminal publication, The Metropolis of Tomorrow. This document mirrors the dimensions and design of the original catalogue and introduces the relationship between master draughtsman and the city alongside the jewellery of the collection.
