The first XLARGE store opened its doors in Los Angeles 1991. Heavily Involved in the brands conception was Mike D from the Beastie Boys. Word quickly spread about XLARGE as the and there were even rumours flying around that it was owned by the Beastie Boys. As 'Check Your head' soared to the top of the charts in 1992, so did the popularity of XLARGE.
A word on the JUNGLES/XLARGE collection from creative director Josh Madden:
"This collaboration is unlike any other collaboration we’ve ever done.
In the second week of March, Jungles founder Jack Ferguson visited LA and we spent an afternoon kicking ideas around.
The next day when Ferguson hopped on the flight home, to Australia, everything changed — the news of a looming pandemic hit and in the coming weeks we all locked down. None of us knew what was going to happen but through it all, we stayed connected via FaceTime and brought the ideas to life.
The collection was assembled, somehow a campaign came together and our friends at shops around the country showed up to support.

After a long hiatus, founder Jack Ferguson revived his Melbourne-based brand following a few years traveling around central America. He’s inspired by many things but Jungles Jungles took focus once more because, as he says, “fuck getting a job.” Known for its anti-establishment graphics and apathetic slogans, Jungles Jungles has been making waves in Asia and the US with stockists everywhere from Dover St Market to lil INF DEF.
