Asili is designed with social impact in mind, these guys work closely with contemporary designers and East African artisans to produce some beautifully unique objects crafted in Africa from reclaimed Olive wood and gorgeous soapstone. The name is Swahili for 'genesis' putting all the emphasis on the source of these objects, each olive wood bowl is sourced sustainably with two trees planted for every trunk harvested and all the soapstone is sourced from Kisii Island, a small region in Western Kenya, where locals have been crafting soapstone for generations ~ Each Asili design is uniquely handmade so images may appear differently from the end product.
