Introducing an archival favourite: the New Balance Rainier boot. The original Rainier was developed in 1982, after the student guides at the Mount Rainier climbing school had taken to wearing running shoes instead of traditional, heavyweight hiking boots. The Rainier was designed as a lightweight alternative that offered climbing and hiking specific performance. The traditional-looking brown that dominates the Mt. Rainier-inspired design is further contrasted by the black metal hardware around the tongue and the Vibram sole units. The profiles and top of the tongue are imprinted with the New Balance logo, keeping things straightforward but heritage-focused.
